Dr. Mauro Delorenzi is a specialist in gene expression bioinformatics, Hidden Markov Models and statistical data analysis. He works mostly in biomolecular medicine projects and translational research. Mauro studied molecular biology and statistics in Zürich and received his PhD in 1989 for research on Homeotic Gene Expression in Drosophila. Later, he worked on sequence analysis and genomic data mining in Terry Speed's group at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne. Since 2002 he is group leader in the NCCR Molecular Oncology program, first at ISREC, and since 2008 at the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics.
