Postdoctoral position at ISREC/EPFL, Lausanne
Project outline We recently described phenotypic changes in a mouse model of colon adenocarcinoma implying the Wnt pathway components Bcl9/Bcl9l, which appear to selectively regulate epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and stem cell traits (Deka et al., Cancer Res. in press). We now focus on validating the relevance of these observations for human cancers, in the context of recent observations pointing to new links between EMT, cancer stem cells and resistance to therapy. Your profile - Ph.D. in life sciences - Interest in cancer sciences and translational research - Strong background in molecular biology (good experience in standard techniques including molecular cloning, quantitative RT-PCR, RNAi, retrovirus-based transduction) - Good knowledge of English Starting date: as soon as possible Contract duration: 12 months (extension is possible for up to four years) We are a small group working as a team. We offer an environment strongly conducive to academic research and/or a career in the biomedical industry. Applications should include a CV, copies of the diplomas, significant published or unpublished papers, motivation letter and three reference names. Please send your application by e-mail to Prof. Michel Aguet (michel.aguet@epfl.ch).
